Talia Kesler
Executive director and supervising attorney
Talia started Muster Legal Clinic to give working people in Cumberland County the same representation at a disability hearing that a paying client would get.
Before the clinic, Talia worked at a legal aid office, where disability claims made up most of her caseload. She supervises every case the clinic takes, handles hearings before Social Security judges and trains the volunteer attorneys who help on clinic Saturdays.

More about Talia
Talia grew up in Spring Lake, the daughter of a long-haul driver whose disability claim took three years and two appeals. She remembers the kitchen table covered in letters nobody could read.
She opened the clinic with two desks and a grant in a borrowed office on Hay Street. Today she spends most mornings in hearings and most afternoons reviewing the files her staff are building.
Outside the office she coaches a youth softball team and keeps the clinic's Saturday coffee going.
